杜美丝用于在电真空器材中与玻璃进行密封时作封接材料用，它采用铁-镍合金棒（或丝）作芯材，经表面镀铜（或套铜），然后进行拉制、退火和表面硼化处理而成。产品的熔封试验和方法达到或者超过国家标准GB11248—89中的有关规定。先进的表面镀铜（或套铜）技术使杜美丝表面状态呈均匀的砖红色或黄色等。产品有红杜美丝、淡（金黄）色杜美丝、白杜美丝、无硼杜美丝和光亮（防潮型）杜美丝等。 
　　Dumet wire is used as seal materials for glass-to-metal of electro-vacuum device .it is manufactured by wrapping or electroplating copper on the Fe-Ni alloy bar(or wiresurfact by drawing.annealing and borating treatmant. seal test & method pass according to the national standard GB11248-89 .The product has red dumet wire, pale (golden yellow) dumet wire, white dumet wire, no B dumen wire and luminous (is moisture-proof) dumet wire etc.
